Bexar Democratic Headquarters attracts huge crowd of Democratic enthusiasts to St. Mary's St.

Over 300 Democratic activists, precinct chairs, elected officials and the media swooped down on the Bexar Democratic Party Headquarters for the grand opening of the building at 3010 North St. Mary's.

Food enough to feed an Army, Democrats mingled, debated, socialized and applauded the efforts of Party leaders to make a difference in the upcoming election.

Speeches by Carla Vela, Bexar County Democratic Chair and Commissioner Tommy Adkisson motivated the crowd to chant, "Had enough?" the national slogan for the November election to elect Democrats and vote out the Republicans.

Adkisson introduced elected officials and candidates who attended the open house. Officials included: Judges David Rodriguez, Peter Sakai, Andy Mireles, Monica Guerrero and Barbara Nellermoe.

SA Council Woman Patti Radle, Balcones Heights Councilman Steve Walker, DemVets Chair Larry Romo, Bexar County Democratic Deputy Chairs Vincente Garcia and Rick Puente, pct. 4 & 1 respectively; Northeast Democrats Chair Ian Straus, DLC Chair Connie De Luna, Chris Garcia, YD Chair; Bryan Girard, Stonewall Democrats Chair; Charlie Jones, Tejano Democrats Chair; and Zada True-Courage, SDEC25 Committee Woman also attended.

Judicial candidate Ray Olivarri, County Clerk candidate Tim Ybarra, Congressional District 21 candidate John Courage, Congressional District 23 candidate Ciro Rodriguez and Congressman Charlie Gonzalez's Chief of Staff, Susane Benevides; Gail Beagle, Chair of the Henry B. Gonzalez Foundation; Hector Garcia Delgado, PAC Chair for the Deputy Sheriff's Union; and Bob Salvatore, past president of the Central Labor Council. (CLC)

Finally Armedeo Ortiz, candidate for Bexar County Sheriff and Lukin Gilliland and Richard Gambitta, possible Congressional candidates for District 23 were also in the crowd.
