Community Workshop on Cyber Bullying
State Senator José Menéndez, State Representative Ina Minjarez, the Molak Family, the Vasquez Family, the San Antonio Police Department, Bexar County District Attorney’s office, School Administrators
Thursday January 21st from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
SAISD Burnet Center located at 406 Barrera St, 78210
In light of recent appalling incidents involving cyberbullying, State Senator José Menéndez has committed to filing and passing legislation called David’s law to address this epidemic. The law will be named after high school student David Molak who tragically took his own life after repeated harassment and bullying predominantly through social media. Senator Menendez is also working with the Vasquez family whose son has been the target of horrendous vitriol online.
Senator Menéndez believes the first step in crafting legislation is to hear from the community on this issue. The workshop will feature the Molak and Vasquez families, law enforcement, and school administrators to discuss ways to address, prevent and to combat cyber bullying,
