Sunday, May 31st, the San Antonio Express News made their recommendations in the City Council runoffs. Here is what the editorial said:
"And in the District 8 runoff, Reed Williams is the right choice. Williams faces Michael Berlanga.
"A retired petroleum refining and marketing officer, Williams' strong business background will serve the district and the city well. He is prepared to serve at a time when balancing the budget will be a tough job.
" Williams also has a lengthy record of community involvement ranging from coaching soccer to serving on the San Antonio Symphony Board to raising funds for the American Heart Association and United Way. We strongly recommend that District 8 voters cast their ballots for Williams in the runoff."
