Part-time Municipal Judge Antonia Arteaga will replace Attorney Lauro Bustamante who was disqualifed in May.

Two other candidates vied for the opportunity to be placed on the ballot in the November election. Former SAISD Board Member & former Municipal Judge Paul Talamantez also sought the appointment.

The recommendation will now go to the Texas Democratic Party Chair Boyd Richie for a final determination.
