Rep. Mike Villarreal to brief reporters on efforts to win House


Rep. Mike Villarreal (photo) is available to brief reporters Monday and Tuesday on the Democrats' efforts to win control of the Texas House of Representatives. A Democratic victory will represent the first step towards turning Texas into a competitive 'purple' state that is more responsive to voters.

To schedule an interview or briefing, please call Peter Clark at 512-417-9262. On election night Rep. Villarreal will also be available for interviews regarding state and national election results at the AlamObama Election Watch Party at the El Tropicano Riverwalk, 110 Lexington.

Throughout the evening Rep. Villarreal will update a chart of State House races and provide up-to-the-minute reports on Democrats' efforts to win back the House.

Please find attached a graphic representation of the recent gains Democrats have made towards winning control of the 150-seat Texas House, as well as a list of the most competitive House races. Democrats currently hold 71 seats and will win back the House with a net gain of five seats on Tuesday.
