After a strong quarter of fundraising and campaigning throughout the district, we are proud to report having raised approximately $535,000 since January 2nd, 2008. For the quarter ending June 30th, 2008 we raised $263,000 and have approximately $277,000 cash on hand.

We are grateful and proud that we have raised over one half of $1 million primarily from individual donors since January. The substantial amount of individual contributions we have received proves that voters have confidence in our campaign and that the contributions will translate into real votes come November.

Since November 2006 we have raised $480,600 of $535,000 from individual contributors. Our campaign has received over 90% of our total from regular voters living in and near the district who are not tied to special interests, while only 40% of Congressman Rodriguez's contributions are from individual donors.

We are encouraged by the large amount of capital we have generated from small contributions from many individuals. Each $25 or $50 contribution is a huge investment for many of you and each one is very meaningful to our campaign.

Having average people from this district, not from out of state PACs, contribute to our campaign shows that they are confident that we can fix Washington and bring real solutions to the table. We are extremely appreciative to each individual contributor for their vote of confidence. Our campaign functions, media and outreach are solely funded through money we have received from contributors.

After our hard-fought Republican Primary race, we started out in the general election race with the incumbent Congressman's fundraising advantage over us by a 12-1 margin. Since then, our opponent's fundraising has slowed dramatically and we have been able to narrow the gap to 4-1. We still have an opportunity to close this gap with your help.
