My name is Heather and I was a student at Stevenson. I am VERY, VERY upset and sad to learn that Mr. Bade has passed away. All of the past band students from Stevenson (we are in HS now) found out yesterday through a chain of cell phone calls. We are wondering if there will be a funeral or a memorial for Mr. Bade? We are so sorry for Mr. Bade's family's loss. He was a GREAT man and we would like to show our respect to him and his family. If you have any information could you email me at heather@myagape.com?

Thank you and I pray that God gives Mr. Bade's family and students strength during this very hard time.

- Heather

I'm a graduate of Stevenson MS and Gordon Bade was such an incredible inspiration. I have been a band director for 18 years now and credit him for showing me that a life lived loving music and teaching is as close to perfect as you can get. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends (especially Mr. Cain), and students.

This is a very saddening and deep loss to all those who knew Mr. Bade and who had the honor to be under his direction over at Stevenson. I remember he would always push me and push me to be better on the clarinet. He did that with everybody, because he wanted his students to see the joy in music and the passion for it that he felt every day. I, for one, will miss him so much. I know everyone he taught and all the gentlemen that he played 40's music with will miss him too.

Mr. Bade, thank you for everything. You will be missed.

I was a student of Mr. Bade from 1986-1989 and this news was shocking to say the least. He was a great music teacher and a wonderful musician. He will be missed by thousands of students that he shared his love of music with. May God watch over his friends and family in this time of sadness.

I was very shocked when my son came home today and told me that Mr. Bade passed away. I was saddened. I just spoke with him about 3 weeks ago. He was telling me how great a student my son was. I couldnt thank him enough for the great words. I always thought he was a very sweet man and an incredible teacher. He taught my son so much. Mr. Bade you will be missed deeply and you will always be in our prayers.

I just graduated from Stevenson in june. less than a week after his passing. I was so upset because mr. Bade taught me so much about playing the trombone in jazz band, and playing the french horn in wind ensemble. I felt a little extra sadness because 8 days before he died, he and Mr. Cain named me Most Outstanding Wind ensemble player. I went to the funeral service and it was sad. He was an inspiration to me and to all of his students.
