As the George R. Brown Convention Center will be brimming with activities, bloggers will have a place to blog and to interview officials at the RightOnline booth. Americans for Prosperity-Texas is hosting a live blogging booth at the Republican State Convention in Houston June 12th-14th.

“AFP is taking a lead in identifying and networking bloggers and new media-savvy Texans and conservative activists to amplify the voice of the Right – online,” said AFP-Texas Director Peggy Venable. “A number of fiscal conservatives are blogging and it's our effort through RightOnLine to give those bloggers -- and future bloggers -- the tools to be more effective.”

Elected officials with blogger interview availabilities scheduled include Sen. John Cornyn, Congressmen Mike McCaul, Mike Conaway & John Culberson; Lt Governor David Dewhurst, Texas House Speaker Tom Craddick, Railroad Chairman Michael Williams & Commissioner Elizabeth Ames-Jones; Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples, Sen. Dan Patrick & Representatives Phil King, Frank Corte, Rob Eissler, Jim Murphy & Dan Branch. More interviews are being scheduled at the convention.

The RightOnline booth is a collaborative effort with sponsors including The Lone Star Report, Upstream Communications, Compass Computer Solutions, US Sen. John Cornyn, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, Cong. John Culberson, Railroad Commissioner Michael Williams, House Speaker Tom Craddick and Conservatives for the Advancement of the Reagan Coalition.

The Dan Patrick Show will broadcast live 4-6 pm from our RightOnline booth. Joining Sen. Patrick will be sidekicks Paul Bettencourt (Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector) and Ben Streusand (Advisory Board Chairman for AFP). The show airs on KSEV 700 AM in Houston and KVCE “The Voice” 1160AM in Dallas.

New media training will be offered at AFP's Defending the American Dream summit featuring Michele Malkin and other "new media" stars July 18th & 19th in Austin.

“We'll bring a voice of common sense to Austin when the Netroots Nation will hold its third annual convention in the Texas capitol city,” said Venable.
