Martin Luther King’s Attorney Speaks in San Antonio

Forty Years After Assassination Civil Rights Leader Reflects on Movement

William “Bill” E. Ready, Sr., a Mississippi attorney who represented civil rights leader Martin Luther King, will speak at the Know Why You Are Marching Civil Rights and Film Series. The Series showcases films which address issues related to the human and civil rights movement and also brings civic advocates to San Antonio as part of a year-round series that encourages youth and the larger community to honor the slain civil rights leader by participating in causes that he gave his life for.

The series also will have a special gospel celebration to mark the 40th anniversary since the April passing of Martin Luther King, Jr. The series will feature gospel choir performances from the UTSA Victory Praise Gospel Choir, Anointed Vessels of Praise, Lily of the Valley Baptist Church Choir, and more..

Know Why You Are Marching Civil Rights & Film Series with Guest Speaker William “Bill” E. Ready, Saturday, April 19th @ noon @ Martin Luther King Academy, 3501 Martin Luther King Dr.

A special intimate reception with Ready will be hosted by the lawyers from the Ariel House (8118 Datapoint Dr) at 7 p.m. All are invited to attend. Young people are especially encouraged to hear Mr. Ready speak at noon on Saturday.
