A Thanksgiving message from Councilman Justin Rodriguez
Dear Friends,
I hope you are enjoying the cooler fall weather and readying yourself for the fast-approaching holiday season. I want to thank those of you who came out to our 4th Annual District 7 Fall Festival at Nani Falcone Park this past weekend. We had a great crowd and lots of sponsors who helped make it a huge success. Your presence - both as sponsors and participants - is very much appreciated.
On another note, as the dust settles from Election Day a few weeks ago, I want to thank those of you who took time to get to the polls and cast your ballots. San Antonio was a big winner on election night as both Proposition 1 and Proposition 2 easily won a majority of votes from our citizens.
As you know, the 1/8 of a cent sales tax which is already in place will now be extended to continue our investment in aquifer protection. In addition, funds collected in the coming years will be committed to the development of our city's linear creekway system. Most notably, the Westside creeks will become part of the plan to grow our green spaces for additional hike and bike trails. I want to specifically thank former Mayor Howard Peak for his leadership and advocacy for these important initiatives.
Please make a special note that our annual District 7 Holiday is scheduled for December 7th @ St. Luke's Catholic Church. We look forward to seeing you there!
Best regards,
Justin Rodriugez
