Dear Friends,

The Spring season has arrived and, with that, the annual rite of Fiesta San Antonio is nearly upon us. As part of those festivities, on April 19th, we will be celebrating Earth Day at Woodlawn Lake Park.

At 9 a.m. that morning, we will continue our efforts for a Green San Antonio with a District 7 Tree Planting Project at the Lake. We will be planting over 25 trees around the walking trail and open green spaces. To volunteer or for more information on events, please call (210) 733-7525.

Our Green San Antonio efforts have also been received with success at Council. Yesterday, my colleagues and I approved the addition of 30 hybrid vehicles to our City fleet. I would like to thank city staff and the entire council for continuing to advocate for a more environmentally-conscious city agenda.

As you know, the NCAA Final Four is in town and has again given San Antonio the tremendous opportunity to display its world class credentials. I encourage you to partake in the various events on tap this weekend, many of which are free to the public.

As basketball fans converge on our great city this weekend, San Antonio can expect to see up to $80 million in revenue over the next few days. For more information, be sure to click the Final Four logo below.

See you in the District,

Justin Rodriguez
District 7 Councilman
