Human Trafficking awareness classes are being presented at the AACOG (Alamo Area Council of Governments) in combination with our regional Human Trafficking Task Force presenting. Additionally, This course will also be simulcast to the Kerr Co Sheriff’s Office.

This class on April 17th from 8:30 am to noon. This class is for Law Enforcement Officers, Health Care, Social Service Providers, Faith Based Organizations, Youth Counselors, Emergency Responders, Forensic Interviewers, Child Welfare Advocates, Juvenile Authorities, Child Protective Services, Magistrates, Criminal Justice & Understudies Students, 911 Dispatchers, & Prosecutors.

Last year the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Catholic Charities and Federal Law Enforcement Joined the Regional Task Force and has disturbing facts that Slavery exists in the Alamo Area today. Last year, three days after we completed training in Florida we came home and arrested five people for Sex Trafficking Of Minors. Today four of the five plead guilty to their involvement and are still in Federal custody.

This involves both foreign persons sold as slaves and our own U.S. citizen children being pimped out for sex. Today we have several ongoing investigations in areas you would never believe this happens In San Antonio and the surrounding Counties.

You will walk away with a broad awareness how to identify victims and who to call to help Rescue and Restore Lives. Nationally 18,000 Persons are sold as slaves in the US. Every student will receive professionally printed materials and video education to take back to your agency provided from U.S. Health and Human Services Anti-Trafficking in Persons (ATIP) program and U.S. Department of State materials.

TCLEOSE and CEU, and CLE credits can be given.
