Detroit - Workers began picketing outside five General Motors Corp. plants after the late morning United Auto Workers strike deadline passed Monday, September 24th. UAW Local President Chris Sherwood told reporters, "We're on strike. It's too late to call us back now." The deadline set by unions passed at 11 a.m. EDT.
