Dr. Soto says Vote YES on Proposition 6 in early voting now

Dear Friends,

Early voting in the November 2011 Constitutional amendment election is underway, and I urge you to Vote YES on Proposition 6.

This highly-technical Constitutional amendment creates a regular mechanism to transfer General Land Office (GLO) revenues to the Available School Fund. In layman's terms: Public money that's meant to be invested in public schools will actually fund public schools. Our money, our priorities. With your vote, Proposition 6 will provide public schools with a regular stream of revenue from the GLO--up to $300 million each biennium.

For a detailed analysis of Proposition 6 and the other proposed Constitutional amendments, visit the Texas Legislative Council website.

Thank you for supporting Texas schools

Dr. Michael Soto, State Board of Education
