33-hour program is a collaboration between College of Business and College of Architecture

A new master of science degree in construction science and management has been approved in the UTSA College of Business. Prospective students can apply now to enter the program in spring 2009.

The 33-hour degree program is a collaborative effort between the College of Business and the College of Architecture at UTSA. The program will focus on the managerial aspects of the real estate finance and development industry and will complement the technical side of the undergraduate construction science program offered through architecture.

Offered in a flexible format to accommodate individuals who are working, the new degree program is one of only five graduate construction science programs in Texas housed in a business school.

Coursework will cover such topics as advanced construction management, real estate finance, real estate investment, real estate development, modeling of financial decision making, international practice and construction practice in a global setting.

In collaboration with the San Antonio real estate community, students in the program have the opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in conjunction with their academic preparation.
