SA Hispanic Chamber of Commerce hosts Inspire Awards

6 p.m. Tuesday, September 30th @ the Pearl Stable, Pearl Stable Parkway #2 for the 2008 General Motors Inspire Awards presented by The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, General Motors and the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SAHCC) have announced the winners of the 2008 General Motors Inspire Awards, a new recognition program designed to highlight leaders who have made significant contributions to the Hispanic and San Antonio communities. The distinguished honorees are the following:
Juan & Belle Ortiz, Mariachi Campanas de America (Entertainment)
Sarah Lucero, KENS 5 (Media)
Jesse James Leija, World Boxing Champion (Sports)
Jorge Cortez, Mi Tierra CafĂ© y PanaderĂa (Arts & Culture)
Charles Barrett, Barrett Motor Cars (Leadership)
Dr. Raymund Paredes, Commissioner, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (Education)
Also, in honor of the late Dr. Keith Russell, a special presentation will be presented for his work as Dean of the Bill Greehey School of Business at St. Mary’s University, and will be accepted by Dr. Charles L. Cotrell, president, St. Mary’s University.
