Alamo City Shooting & Outdoor Sportsfest


Student Group to hosts shooting sports Youth Event in San Antonio

San Antonio, TX - Saturday, September 22, 2007,
Students for the Second Amendment and the Collegiate Firearms Instructor Program will host the 3rd annual, Alamo City Shooting & Outdoor Sportsfest.

The Alamo City Shooting & Outdoor Sportsfest is open to the public.

Over 1000 attendees are expected at the one-day event. All families, youth groups, and student groups are encouraged to attend.

The event will take place at the National Shooting Complex located at 5931 Roft Rd. San Antonio , Texas . Attendees are asked to enter the complex from Gass Rd.

Due to the generosity of a donor who wishes to remain anonymous, all youngsters aged 18 and younger will be admitted free of charge. Adults will be charged $5.00.

Activities at the Alamo City Shooting & Outdoor Sportsfest include: Pistol Shooting, Rifle Shooting, Shotgun Shooting, Muzzleloading Pistol & Rifle Shooting, Field Archery, Cowboy Action Shooting, Bass Casting & Fishing, Hunters Skills Trail, Wildlife Education Displays, Climbing Wall, Historic Firearm Demonstrations, Living History Reenactors, Map & Compass and much more.

The Alamo City Shooting & Outdoor Sportsfest is an official
NRA Shooting Sports Camp, a National Hunting & Fishing Day event in cooperation with the National Shooting Sports Foundation, and a Trailblazer Adventure Program in cooperation with the U.S. Sportsman's Alliance.

"The purpose of our event is to introduce young people, families, and members of youth organizations to the safe enjoyment of the shooting sports, as well as many other outdoor sports and activities." said Ryan Bragg, Chairman of Students for the Second Amendment, "Our primary focus here is safety and education."

Stephanie Woodward, Vice Chairman of Events remarked, "It is our belief that our nation is at risk of losing its shooting, hunting, and outdoor heritage. We are committed to reversing the so-called, 'graying' of the outdoor sports community, and to the preservation of those values."
