Back to School tax free weekend

With the start of school rapidly approaching, families across Texas need to remember the fantastic opportunity to save money this weekend. August 17-19 brings the annual Sales Tax Holiday for all of Texas.

This is a fantastic opportunity for families to stock up on new clothes, shoes, and other necessities. Past years have proven a tremendous success with shoppers saving a total of $49 million last year alone.

One particular item of note for 2007 school backpacks have been added to the tax-free list. Remember that all items must be under $100 and on the approved list which is noted in the link below.

Enjoy your shopping this weekend and getting the kids back into school for a fantastic year.
Best wishes!

Texas Lt. Governor.
