Message from former Congressman Francisco "Quico" Canseco

Integrity, trust, and character are built over a lifetime. They are characteristics easy to claim, but proven by action. Thanks to the example of loving parents, my own legacy of service to the communities where I have lived and worked speaks for itself.

I am proud to have served as a board member and officer to three schools; on a community hospital board as a board member and as chair. For over 20 years, my family has helped South Texas minority students with educational scholarships, supported a battered women's shelter and health care ministry for impoverished patients, and many other charitable causes. Whether serving San Antonio Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) or volunteering at homeless shelters, my service has always been forthright and sincere.

My solutions for these issues have always been the same. It is where I stand. It is how I will serve you and the country we love. Straight-talk and common sense solutions are what serve our American democracy. We must act now to assure it survives. Will you stand with me again? Our future depends on it! Your support, help and vote are needed. If you would like to join our team to win back the 23rd, please send my campaign an email at contact@cansecoforcongress.com

"Road to Emmanaus" conversation sponsored by COPS, 11-12

Join us on “The Road to Emmaus!” - a conversation about issues that affect our families, and how to engage through civic participation.

The Communities Organized for Public Service (C.O.P.S.)/Metro Alliance will hold its annual assembly where we will celebrate our first half a million dollar renovation to Fr. Benavides Park on the West Side.

There will be hundreds of COPS/Metro Leaders representing our 33 member institutions.

Our guests will include: Ernie Cortez, a founder of C.O.P.S./Metro Alliance, Vicar General Fr. Larry Christian, District 5 Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales, Patrick Duffy of The Office of Life, Peace and Justice, and other public officials and community leaders.

The assembly will take place Tuesday, November 12th @ 7-8:30 p.m. @ Fr. Albert Benavides Park, 1515 Saltillo Street.

“Our legacy is one of action for our brothers and sisters in our neighborhoods,” said Joseph Oubre’, Jr., a COPS/Metro Leader from Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. “We are calling on our elected officials and leaders to join us and take advantage of the opportunities to improve the quality of life for the families in our community.”

C.O.P.S./Metro is non-partisan and does not endorse candidates nor political parties.
