Facebook group welcomes you 2 Texas Libertarian Party/ LPTexas

Welcome to Texas Libertarians, the Facebook group of the Libertarian Party of Texas (or as we call it, LPTexas)! We’re glad you’re here!

The strategic objective of LPTexas is “a world set free in our lifetime” (a quote from our party’s platform), and our particular contribution to that ambitious project includes running Libertarian candidates for public office in Texas and sponsoring events that promote our candidates, our platform, and our principles. This Facebook group provides a facility for LPTexas members, volunteers, friends, and allies to communicate with each other and organize for effective political action in support of the platform and candidates of LPTexas.

Secondarily, we provide an open forum for those sincerely interested in LPTexas and libertarianism to observe, read and learn, keep up with events and news, and ask questions and receive polite, informative answers.

The mission of Texas Libertarians is to provide a positive, productive online environment in which all who are willing to work together toward “liberty in our lifetime” can find causes and candidates they can support, people they can work with, and particular ways to serve, and then _get to work_.

Wherever two or three libertarians are gathered there will be philosophical and personality differences, but those are insignificant compared to the challenge before us—to get people to change the way they think about government, culture, and what it means to be an individual.

We expect everyone here to work, learn, and grow together peacefully and cooperatively, modeling the principles we espouse. We do not allow personal attacks that denigrate or disparage other members of the group.

We’re also not interested in spamming or trolling or anything really that distracts us from the common work of building this party and promoting its candidates and its platform. While we will typically just delete specific posts or comments or mute a member for a few days as necessary, we will ban members for chronic low-level or specific egregious infractions, and reserve the right to ban any member that we believe is not supporting the mission of the group.
