Approaching Islam from the perspective of religious, historical and contemporary events, we will explore internal and external forces. For example, what are Islam’s views on Jihad and violence, historically and in modern times?

Is Islam a religion of peace? What is Sharia Law and what is it designed to do? Navigate with us the on-going Middle East Crisis, who is involved in ISIS,   al-Qaeda, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and the USA.

Why are they doing what they are doing, and what role does the religion play? Are they acting in accord with religious tradition and law? We will learn why the many factions act as they do.
