Message from State Senate Candidate Michael Berlanga

This week, my campaign for Texas Senate District (SD) 19 received an important endorsement. The Associated Republicans of Texas, one of our state’s most established Republican organizations, announced they are standing behind us. They understand, like you do, that we find ourselves at the brink of an incredible opportunity.

SD 19 represents the uniqueness of Texas. It shares a long border with Mexico, and contains the diversity of our state from the urban challenges of San Antonio to the rural issues of seventeen counties and cities from Atascosa to Alpine. The district is flush with the Texas gold of resources - oil, gas, and fresh water. Representing over 800,000 citizens, this district is poised to be the leading swing vote in a Senate long overdue in leading Texas to greatness.

Let’s share the truth about the Texas we love and call home. Despite economic prosperity in many parts of Texas, we are still behind much of the nation in home ownership because our property taxes are too high. Our state is witnessing increasing dropout rates because school district bureaucracy diverts important resources away from our school teachers and our children’s classrooms. These issues plague families and small businesses in SD 19 like much of the rest of South Texas and the Border.

By supporting my campaign for SD 19, we can give the Texas Senate a two-thirds majority, and finally have the ability to enact comprehensive solutions to these problems and secure a prosperous future for our children. That is why my campaign is not just important for the hard working people of SD 19 but for the entire state.
