Councilman Saldana endorses Lorraine Pulido for ACCD Board

Early Voting for the Runoff election for the Alamo Colleges (ACCD) Board of Trustees - District 4 is from June 9 - 17, and election day is June 21. I'm writing to ask for your vote for my good friend, Lorena "Lorraine" Pulido. She is the most qualified, experienced, and educated candidate, and would represent the southwest sector of our city with integrity.

As many of you know, I graduated from South San High School, and I still reside there. I am honored to support Lorena "Lorraine" Pulido to represent District 4 on the Alamo Colleges Board of Trustees. She is also a proud product of the Southside, and has been both a student and faculty member at Palo Alto College - one of the Alamo Colleges.

After graduating from high school, she went on to earn three college degrees: a bachelor's from the University of Pennsylvania, a master's from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. from Our Lady of the Lake University. As you can see from her exemplary educational credentials, she practices what she preaches. As a part-time adjunct faculty member for 14 years as several of our local schools, including Palo Alto College, UTSA, Our Lady of the Lake University, and now at Texas A&M University - San Antonio, Lorraine is aware of the many issues that are of importance to students, faculty, administrators, and community members. And as the current Public Relations Manager for the City of San Antonio, she also has experience in business and government, and the best practices to take an idea from its concept phase to its successful implementation.

Lorraine strongly believes in the potential of our students on the Southside -- because she has lived through many of the experiences and challenges they face. She will bring a unique perspective to the Board, and ensure our Southside students and community are well represented.

I ask that you, your family members, and neighbors, make your voices heard in this critical election. Early voting is June 9 - 17, and election day is June 21. For assistance with locating your polling place, visit the County website.

Thank you so much, in advance, for your vote for Lorena "Lorraine" Pulido for Alamo Colleges Board of Trustees - District 4.

Sincerely,
Councilman Rey Saldana
