Marialyn Barnard named 4th Ct. of Appeals Assoc. Justice

Gov. Rick Perry has named Marialyn Barnard of San Antonio justice of the Texas 4th Court of Appeals for a term to expire at the next general election.
The court covers 32 counties from Bexar County to Webb County and handles both civil and criminal cases. The position is effective Jan. 1, 2009. Barnard is an attorney with Prichard, Hawkins, McFarland and Young LLP.
She is a member of the Texas State Bar and the American Bar Association, and a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and life fellow for the San Antonio Bar Foundation.
She is also a member of the Child Advocates of San Antonio and Infraguard boards of directors, and is a Habitat for Humanity and Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Antonio volunteer. Barnard received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University Commerce and a law degree from St. Mary’s University.
She replaces Catherine Stone of San Antonio.
