Alamo Event: The Battle of Bexar, Saturday, December 13th from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. for a cost of $9 per ticket in advance. $10 day of the event.
Please join us for an after hours event at the Alamo on Saturday, December 13th. Before the famous siege and battle of 1836, there was the Battle of Béxar. Taking place in December 1835, Texian and Tejano forces overwhelmed the Mexican army and their leader, General Cos, and took possession of the city and an old fortified mission called the Alamo.
General Santa Anna responded by moving his forces back to Texas and to San Antonio, leading to the 1836 siege and battle. The Battle of Béxar is a unique educational opportunity presented by The Alamo and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
The public is invited to view a museum gallery presentation entitled Béxar: December 1835--Prelude to the Alamo. Visitors will be escorted through the grounds to view a series of historical vignettes designed to tell the story of the Battle of Béxar and events that led to the second battle for the town--the Battle of the Alamo.
Tickets for the event can be purchased by calling 210-225-1391, ext. 28. Payment should be mailed to the following address: Prelude to the Alamo, The Alamo, P.O. Box 2599, San Antonio, Texas 78299. For ticket information, contact Ernesto Rodriguez by email or phone: 210-225-1391 x 28.
