Conference for small, minority-owned businesses offered by City, County
Registration is open for the 8th annual Small, Minority, Women and Veteran Business Owners Conference, which will be from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 10th at Freeman Coliseum. The conference, sponsored by Bexar County and the City of San Antonio, will help small business owners learn “How to Get in the Game and Stay in the Game.”
Participants will have access to a procurement exhibit hall where they can learn about and seek billions of dollars in contracting opportunities for commodities, goods, services, construction and professional services. Speakers and workshops will teach participants about growing and managing a successful business; gaining access to capital; and doing business with federal, state and local agencies and corporations, including the U.S. Air Force and Army. Participants also will learn how to respond to requests for proposals and how to bid on projects.
The veteran business center will educate veterans about the many business opportunities available only to those with prior service in the armed forces. Information on the Small Business Administration Patriot Express Loan, marketing and presentation skills, federal contracting and the Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Program will be available.
The conference is being offered free of charge and includes breakfast and a box lunch for those who register. For more information, including the conference schedule and registration form, visit www.bexar.org/smwbe or call the City of San Antonio at (210) 207-3900.
