On Thanksgiving Day lets share a tidbit of historical information

(Photo of the Constitution) Did you know that in 1834 President Andrew Jackson paid off the national debt? ( the only President of the US to do so. Who knew?) He is quoted as saying, " Free from public debt."

He wrote, "At peace with the world...the present may be hailed as the epoch of our history the most favorable for the settlement of those principles in our domestic policy which shall ber calculated to give stability to our Republic and secure the Blessings of freedom to our citizens."
