HTA Spring Meeting, April 12th at Oak Hills Medical Center Hotel, 7401 Wurzbach Rd. at 10 a.m.-noon.

It's time for our Spring meeting, so please mark your calendar. Our guest speaker is former Express-News Columnist Roddy Stinson. Roddy will give us his views on various issues including plans by Mayor Phil Hardberger to overturn the results of the 1991 and 2004 term limit elections.

Because of strict terms, there has not been any increase in the city property tax rate since voters imposed term limits in 1991. Voters will not be fooled into supporting a return to career politicians running our city.

We were forced to again vote for limits in 2004. We look forward to seeing you at the meeting. Please be sure to bring a friend or neighbor.
It's time to fight back!

Bob Martin
HTA President

Curious to see why Bob Martin isn't part of the keep Travis ES open campaign. Considering he was the most vocal opposed to the SAISD rollback. Guess it was only because the moment called for someone to make the paper.

SAISD chose to close Travis ES. You might like to think that he was looking out for the betterment of all Citizens.

Betterment of who. Himself to garner media attention. SAISD ultimately has the final say. I agree with you on that. But if Mr. Martin is such an advocate for public education, why wouldn't he support more funding for schools? Are we to believe that costs do not rise for districts as well? That we should not all share the burden of the rising cost of educating our children? I guess the "betterment" applies to only those who pay taxes and not the children who can't. So we penalize them in order to prove a point. Good job sir/ma'am.
