Gov. Rick Perry (photo) Appoints Bridgwater as Judge of 178th Judicial District Court
Austin – Gov. Rick Perry appointed Samuel “Roger” Bridgwater III of Houston as judge of the 178th Judicial District Court serving Harris County for a term to last until the next general election.
Bridgwater is an attorney in private practice. He is a former assistant district attorney for Harris County, and a member and past director of the Harris County Criminal Lawyer’s Association. He is also past president of the Houston Bar Association Criminal Law and Procedure Section.
Bridgwater serves as a trustee of Houston Baptist University and volunteers as chairman of Youth Reach Houston. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Houston Bar Association and Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
Bridgwater received a bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University and a law degree from South Texas College of Law.
