60 area high school students will earn $900 for participation
What: UTSA College of Engineering hosts an inaugural summer internship program for 60 area high school students who will be exposed to research in the college’s laboratories. Over the summer break each student will be required to complete 48-hours of laboratory observation with an assigned mentor.
What: UTSA College of Engineering hosts an inaugural summer internship program for 60 area high school students who will be exposed to research in the college’s laboratories. Over the summer break each student will be required to complete 48-hours of laboratory observation with an assigned mentor.
Students completing the internship will receive $900 for their participation. Those who decide to enroll at UTSA full time and are accepted, could earn $3,600 to assist with finances in their freshman year.
The program, the first of it’s kind for the College of Engineering, is upported with nearly $500,000 in funding from the Department of Education’s Math, Science and Engineering Initiative Program and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s Youth in Technology program.
