In GLOW: The Nuclear
Show, artists respond to all things nuclear: nuclear power, nuclear weapons, nuclear
waste, nuclear energy, nuclear medicine, nuclear radiation. These themes have
resurfaced with a vengeance since the March 11, 2011 Fukushima Daiichi disaster.
Each artist struggles with exigent questions, such as: Is nuclear power
dangerous? Is it dirty? Is it hazardous to health? Is it deadly? And, what other
risks does nuclear power pose for humanity both now and in the future? GLOW,
organized by lead artist David Zamora Casas, aka Nuclear
Meltdown, with Debora Kuetzpal Vasquez and Eric
Lane, visually challenges the viewer to contemplate all of these issues
and more.
