Welcome to the Reed Williams Campaign -- Former Opponents Unite

Greetings!
The race for who would be in the runoff election for the San Antonio City Council District 8 position was decided on election night by a razor thin twelve-vote margin with Mike Berlanga finishing just ahead of Reed Williams.

With the two candidates headed for the runoff, the previous candidates in the race, Jacob Dell, Juan Davila, Melissa Martinez-Carrasco and Jody Sherrill, are united in formally endorsing their regular election opponent, Reed Williams, in the June 13th runoff election.

"I'm proud to have earned my former opponents' endorsements because finding solutions to the important issues facing San Antonio requires that we all work together." said Reed Williams, candidate in the District 8 runoff.

"Each of these candidates understands that keeping San Antonio a great place to live requires balancing the budget without cutting vital services, increasing police, fire and EMS resources and relieving traffic congestion. I'm humbled by their support."

Voters cast 10,486 ballots in the regular election for City Council. With so few votes separating the top two vote-getters in the first round and with the runoff expected to draw even fewer votes, the endorsement of Reed Williams by his four opponents is critical to winning the runoff election.

"Together my former opponents accounted for 47% of all votes cast in the first round. They may not be on the ballot, but their support helps build the momentum needed to win this election. I appreciate their backing and I look forward to working with them in winning the runoff and helping build a better future for District 8 and San Antonio," stated Williams.

City Council District 8 is on San Antonio's northwest side. Early Voting begins on June 1st and ends on June 9th. Election Day for the runoff is Saturday, June 13th.
