Call to Action: Flood the Phones for DREAMers! from 9-10 to 9-19

from 9 p.m. til 12 a.m.

To Action: Flood the Phones! My Voice for Dreamers Will Be Heard, US Capitol Switchboard: (202) 224-3121

We are all upset about the Trump Administration announcing it is rescinding the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that granted protected status to undocumented immigrant children brought into the US by parents or other adults.

An April 2017 poll conducted by Morning Consult and Politico reported that 8 out of 10 American Voters support DACA and its benefits for young undocumented immigrants. Over half of those polled supported ultimately earning US citizenship. Terminating DACA could result in the loss of billions of dollars according to the American Center for Progress. The center estimates that nearly $460 billion could be lost in the next decade if DACA is shut down by Trump with no replacement!

The time to fight is now, but the way we go about it must be smart. Protests, acts of civil disobedience, and hunger strikes helped build the support base of the movement. All these actions helped empower a generation of leaders that found pride in being undocumented and unafraid. Unfortunately, politicians in power that oppose any type of legislation that supports our DREAMers have become callous to these types of actions.

These politicians however fear a strong lobby… They fear being held accountable and having to face their constituents and voters! You can start fighting the good fight by calling and Flooding the Phones for Dreamers! These 6 months will be crucial to garner the necessary support in Congress to pass legislation that protects our youth!

When you call we also suggest you share your own personal Immigrant and American Dream Story. REQUEST TO MEET with your member of Congress (US Senators and US House of Representatives Member) or their staff. Remind them that you will hold them accountable, especially at the Ballot Box on Nov. 6th, 2018.
