We’re proud to welcome home our own Texas star, Julián Castro to be an honored speaker at the 2016 Texas Democratic Convention.

Julián Castro is a bold Texas Democrat, proven leader, and champion of opportunity for all our families. From safe affordable housing to strong sustainable neighborhoods, Castro has an indisputable record of progressive accomplishment. Through his work as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and prior as Mayor of San Antonio, Julián Castro has delivered solution that improved the lives of millions of families.

Hon. Julián Castro issued the following statement: “I’m humbled and excited to return home to San Antonio for the 2016 Texas Democratic Convention.

“We know that the strength of Texas is in its families, our shared dreams, and our grit to get the job done. Texans think big, as big as our great state. That is why we cannot accept when families are being left behind. There is no reason for that. Together, we must invest in an infrastructure of opportunity for all. I look forward to joining y’all in San Antonio, next month, to celebrate our Texas values.”
