KENS-5 Reporter James Munoz now News Director in Midland

Former KENS-5 Reporter James Munoz
James Muñoz, now known as James Doughty and formerly of KENS 5, reports that he’s back in his hometown of Midland as news director of NewsWest 9, whose call letters are KWES-TV.

After a short stint at City Hall, the Texas Tech grad was called home, he says. And he has several openings at his station. Contact him at 210-663-8622 or doughtyjames@msn.com

About the name change: Doughty is author of a memoir, “Some Monument to Last.” The fourth-generation Texan carries the namesake of his third great-grandfather who was the first superintendent of the King Ranch and sheriff of Refugio County.

Another ancestor, John Moses, came to Texas in 1847 and wrote a series of columns for the San Antonio Express-News from 1887 to 1890 under the pseudonym Sesom.
