Comemorating Veteran's Day Message from TDP Chair

Today, as we commemorate Veteran’s Day, the Texas Democratic Party joins with all Texans and all Americans in thanking and honoring our Nation’s Veterans and our men and women currently serving.

But it goes beyond today.

Last Tuesday, when Americans had to opportunity to participate in the democratic process by voting in free elections, that was also Veteran’s Day.

And next Tuesday, when we get up and go to work, send our kids to school, stop by our place of worship, engage in the things we take for granted in this society—that too will be a Veteran’s Day.
With this understanding, Texas Democrats take this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to protect and improve Veteran’s benefits, educational opportunities, hiring enhancements and health care.

We know that our collective debt to our men and women who have served, are currently serving, or will serve in the future, can never be fully repaid, and so we re-pledge to do everything we can to keep our side of the bargain made in their service. To support, respect and provide for them the services they deserve.

Every day that we have the privilege to live in a society that enjoys the inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness—that day, too, surely is Veteran’s Day.
With great respect

Gilberto Hinojosa
