Once Upon A Time
St. George Episcopal School has been participating in the Battle of Flowers Parade for over forty years. This year their float is "Once Upon a Time" with reference to many different fairytales including Jack in the Beanstalk, Rapunzel and Cinderella. Fifty six active second graders will adorn the float as fair maidens and knights.
Long time second grade teacher, Chris Huckaba, who has participated and been instrumental in the Fiesta Second Grade float project for many years is retiring. Ms. Nixon and Ms. Harrison, also second grade teachers have helped design many of the items on the float and added artistic design to every detail. Second grade parents, Carla Bick and Yvonne Gonzales have chaired the float project this year. Second grade parents build the float and today when the kids saw it –they were amazed at what their parents had built.
The float is located in Forming Area C and is Float #111.
Kids will be in place at 10 a.m. Friday –April 27th.
Riding in the Battle of Flowers Parade truly is a "Once Upon a Time" fairytale for many of the Second Graders.
