Participants and Area Commander to “Sleep Out” Under the Stars
The Salvation Army is holding its first-ever “Sleep Out” to raise awareness on homelessness in our community. Area Commander Major Albert Villafuerte will join the participants and hear inspiring testimonials from individuals who were once homeless, and “sleep out” under the stars.
There will be free food, coffee, games, movies, and fellowship. Participants donate $10 to benefit The Salvation Army.
Begins Friday, Nov. 19th @ 8 p.m. and ends Saturday, Nov. 20th, 8 a.m. @ the Salvation Army Hope Center, 521 W. Elmira.
During these tough economic times, the number of families in San Antonio struggling to make ends met is increasing. In order to help meet this need, The Salvation Army counts on the spirit of giving from the beloved San Antonio community.
Every participant in the Sleep Out is contributing $10 to The Salvation Army. When San Antonians contribute to The Salvation Army, they can expect change: change in helping those less fortunate in our city, change in making a difference in the lives of people in crisis, and change in the quality of life of so many people – just as The Salvation Army has done for the past 121 years.
