Bihl Haus Arts presents Vyjanthi Kashi in dance, 11-18


Bihl Haus Arts presents Visiting Artist Vyjanthi Kashi in Solo Classical Indian Dance performance, November 18th @ 7 p.m.

Bihl Haus Arts hosts visiting artist Vyjanthi Kashi, of India, in an intimate solo performance of classical Indian dance on Thursday, Nov. 18th, at 7 p.m.


She performs in the ancient tradition of Kuchipudi, the classical dance form from the South-East Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Vyjanthi will don the brilliantly colored silk costume of the Kuchipudi dancer, which features a long pleated skirt panel, ornaments made of a light-weight wood called boorugu, dramatic eye makeup, and brass bell anklets.

Vyjanthi Kashi's career spans an impressive spectrum of performance, choreography, therapy, teaching and research. Her works have been featured in several international festivals. She serves on the Arts and Cultural Committee of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural, Government of India. Her film and television credits include documentaries and interviews in the broadcasting media.
