The Texas-Peru Partners Relief Funds
The 1st Annual CHASKIS 8K RUN/ 5K WALK and Peruvian Festival and Silent Auction, Saturday, June 6th @ 8 a.m. @ Soler’s Sport Tri Store; 14405 Old Bandera Road; Helotes.
Visuals: They include Miss Helotes 2008 starting the ceremonies as well as numerous runners from across Texas. Available interviews include the runners themselves and members of the Texas-Peru Partners Relief Funds.
Interviews are also available with title sponsor and former Olympian Roger Soler of Soler’s Sport Tri Store. The cultural event also includes a Peruvian Festival after the race where there will be Peruvian Folklore Kusuy Kusuy Dancers, children’s games and live music by Texas and Peruvian groups Ana Lucia & Darrell Gamarra, Scandal-O and more.
The event will also focus on displaced families in Peru affected by the large earthquake in the country in 2007. Funds raised by the race and festival will go directly to assistant 150 families to rebuild their home and communities following the successful building of the elementary school.
