Files Necessary Paperwork for Mayor's Race

Trish DeBerry-Mejia officially entered the mayor’s race March 5th by filing the necessary paperwork with the city clerk’s office.

“Today is a great day. I was joined by my friends, family and supporters as I filed for the office of mayor. This action, although largely ceremonial, really cements the deal.

“I am in this race to win it; not to place; not to show. The people of San Antonio deserve to be heard and my campaign is about sharing a vision, discussing that vision with citizens and moving our city forward together,” said DeBerry-Mejia.

DeBerry-Mejia is the only small business candidate in the race. For nearly 15 years she and her business partners have developed one of San Antonio’s premier marketing and communications firms, Guerra DeBerry Coody.

“In this tightening economy, with city revenue projections missing their budgeted marks, San Antonio needs two things: a practical business approach to delivering essential city services as efficiently as possible; and a mayor with seasoned communications and marketing experience. We need to communicate with our citizens about the how city government works and we need to market San Antonio as a great place to do business. I am that candidate,” said DeBerry-Mejia.
