Judge Peter Sakai honored by numerous agencies in SA


Judge Peter Sakai, (Photo) 225th District Court, Bexar County, Texas has received and been honored in 2008 by several outstanding agencies and organizations that focus on the needs of children, families and community.

The Boysville Board of Directors has chosen to name and honor Judge Peter Sakai as the 2008 Arthur O’Krent Humanitarian Award recipient. This prestigious award is given to an individual who, by civic action, demonstrates love and concern for the well-being of children within the community. He joins a distinguished group of past recipients that includes Fully Clingman, Tom Frost, Governor Dolph Briscoe, Dr. Dale Wood, Edith McAllister, Reverend Buckner Fanning, Rosemary Kowalski and Bill Greehey.

Texas Network of Youth Services has honored Judge Peter Sakai of San Antonio with this year’s Trailblazer for Youth award in Austin, Texas. This award is bestowed on individuals who have made a significant contribution to young people, children and to the field youth services, which has an impact across the State of Texas. The Trailblazer for Youth Award acknowledges both his concern for children and his professional accomplishments to make life better for children, youth, and families in Texas.

The Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce in its annual gala recognized Judge Peter Sakai with the Community Leadership and Service Award for his outstanding educational, humanitarian and civic service to the San Antonio community. Judge Sakai has been a leader and has been a tireless advocate for the children and families in San Antonio. The Asian American community wishes to recognize Judge Sakai, as the only elected Asian American official in the area.
