Traditional Holiday play returns to The Playhouse
While his mother is preparing their first-ever Thanksgiving dinner, little Perry Hollingbrook goes on a fall adventure in the woods of the first American Colony. Perry and the children in the audience encounter four charming animals; Blossom the Opossum, Blousie the Mousie, Murtle the Birdle, and Honey the Bunnie, who tell a story about what it means to be thankful. With plenty of audience participation and lots of singing and dancing, Perry learns that the real reason for being thankful lies in his home, where his journey began.
Paula Jo Peterson, the director of the BackYard Theatre for Kids, “children and parents alike will enjoy learning that Thanksgiving isn’t only about turkey and pumpkin pie, it’s about being truly thankful for having good friends, a loving family, and more.”
The BackYard Theatre philosophy is to introduce young children (ages 2 – 7) to live theatre and show them that theatre can be fun, entertaining and educational. Paula Jo Peterson makes sure that all shows are written and directed as interactive shows with the children participating in the plot.
