San Antonio Mayor Phil Hardberger will address the issue of extending term limits at a meeting of the San Antonio District 10 Alliance tonight at the North East Service Center. The District 10 Alliance is comprised of neighborhood association leaders from across San Antonio’s Northeast Side.

November 4th, San Antonio voters will go to the polls to decide whether or not to extend City Council term limits from the current two, 2-year limit to four, 2-year terms. If the proposal passes, council members will remain accountable to the voters because they will still run for reelection every two years.

The proposed extension will serve to create a greater sense of stability in leadership, which will allow long-term issues such as education, transportation and economic development to be more effectively addressed.
