Mark Twain coming to the Steven Stoli Playhouse soon

Steven Stoli announces that Mark Twain will visit The Steven Stoli Playhouse on October 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th. The Playhouse will present “An Evening with Mark Twain,” starring Kurt Sutton. Mr. Sutton has created a Broadway-Branson style play using Sam Clemens many talents to portray Twain.

His tour will be performing at The Playhouse for one weekend only. Thursday, Oct. 9th will be a special *student night. Within the “Clemens Parlor,” this Mark Twain will share quips, monologues, wit and wisdom credited to the author.

Like Twain, Sutton will also perform on harmonica, guitar and/or banjo. Sutton, a winner of the National Endowment of the Arts for his presentation of Tom Sawyer, and has portrayed the author Samuel Clemens (1835-1910), who penned such classics as The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn and Life on the Mississippi.

Twain was one of America’s leading writers and lecturers of his day. He gave hundreds of speeches both here and abroad and came to define humor as an art form. He is the only person whose wit in writing and speech have survived, thrived and entertained audiences in the 19th, 20th and now 21st century.
