Do not open any news alerts
By Roxanne Whitt, CITRMS

Be careful if you have signed up for news or any other type of alerts.

MSNBC.com and CNN.com have been targeted by hackers using their URLs to infect PCs with trojans and viruses.

Do not click on any links in any news alert which you may receive.
If you like the topic, go directly to the web site, ie. msnbc.com, cnn.com, etc, and type in the topic.

Most of these emails are not from the news web sites but someone who has cloaked their URL. These links contain multiple viruses and trojans.

If you have clicked one of these links, run a virus check immediately. If you have an ad detection program such as AdAware and a spyware program such as SpyBot, run those immediately after the virus check.Roxanne Whitt, CITRMS is a Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist and the Official Licensed Supplier to 360 Sports Management, Inc.of The Identity Theft Shield.
