Texas Railroad Commission Chair
I just returned from a press conference with San Antonio’s Northside Independent School District. NISD is the first school district in the country since 2002 to take delivery of a propane school bus. Their 16 new buses will be added to one of the largest alternative fuel bus fleets in all of Texas.
What made the event really enjoyable was presenting Superintendent John Folks and NISD Board President Katie Reed a check for $66,341.46 from a grant the Railroad Commission got from the US Department of Energy to help school districts cover some of the incremental costs of the buses.
