New burn ban approved

Commissioners Court approved an order restricting outdoor burning in Bexar County because of continuing dry weather conditions. The order is good for 90 days unless conditions change and Commissioners Court terminates it.

The order prohibits outdoor burning except for that used in firefighting training; public utility, natural gas pipeline or mining operations; or harvesting of agricultural crops. Burning household trash or other domestic waste is permitted only if it is burned in a device such as a burn barrel with a wire mesh screen, with the approval of the Bexar County Fire Marshal’s Office.

County residents who would like to burn outdoors are urged to call the Fire Marshal’s Office at (210) 335-0300 before doing so.

  1. I learned more from your website, than the Bexar Co. Fire Marshalls own, on the topic of the BURN BAN. They just have "BEXAR COUNTY IS CURRENTLY UNDER A BURN BAN".
Wow,informative in pursuit of needed information about what guidelines a county citizen needs to know before they can burn safely and within the law. They publish this one sentence as part of their welcome statement "It is our goal to bring our citizens and constituents updated news, events and information." Isn't something missing? Like, what you all published in your report.
