Young Conservatives of Texas host State Convention in SA

The Young Conservatives of Texas, a non-partisan grassroots political organization, announce the 2008 State Convention in San Antonio at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (Airport Area) Saturday – 12th.

“This convention is a chance for young conservatives, alumni, college students across the state and key state officials to network in a positive learning environment,” said Laura Elizabeth Morales, Director of Public Relations for the Young Conservatives of Texas.

Saturday: 9:05 a.m. – 10:05 a.m. – Cathie Adams, Texas Eagle Forum

10:10-11:15 a.m. – 81st Legislative Session, State Rep. Wayne Christian, State Senator Jeff Wentworth

11:15-11:50 a.m. - Leading a Chapter: Advice to Future Leaders, Brendan Steinhauser, Director State and Federal Campaigns, Freedom Works

Noon-1 p.m. Lunch with Attorney General Greg Abbott

1:05 – 2:15 p.m. – Legislative Issues- Mary Katherine Stout – Texas Public Policy Foundation –

2:15 – 3:15 p.m. – John Cornyn, United States Senator

3:20 – 4:45 p.m. – Innovative Activism-Joe Solis - South Texas Republicans/Coalition for Texas

4:45 – 5:15 p.m. Panel: Media and Publicity, Michael Sullivan – Texans for Fiscal Responsibility

7 p.m.- 9 p.m. Keynote Speaker & Dinner - Lieutenant Colonel Brian Birdwell

The event is open to all media, and bloggers are welcome to attend, but will all be required to sign in prior to the event to receive credentials. Student registration is free and that covers the event, meals and hotel arrangements. Students may sign up at http://www.yct.org/
