Concert: Myth and Music, Monday, May 5th, 7 p.m. @ SAMA, 200 West Jones AvenueThe San Antonio Museum of Art and Musical Offerings present Myth and Music, a concert celebrating the reopening of SAMA's Greek and Roman Galleries.

Houston Grand Opera Studio artists, Faith Sherman, mezzo-soprano and Kathleen Kelly, piano, with Musical Offerings' Joan Christenson, violin, present repertoire inspired by artworks found in the Greek and Roman Galleries at SAMA.

Ms. Sherman is the top prize winner in the 2007 Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Singers, and Ms. Kelly is the head of Music Staff and Music Director of the highly acclaimed Houston Grand Opera Studio.

Selections include: “Composers Aria” from Richard Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos , “Melodie” from Christoph Gluck’s Orfeo and Euridice, as well as Joseph Haydn’s cantata, Arianna a Naxos.$6/SAMA members, $8/student with ID, $10/non-members.
